We appreciate the support and cooperation of the Kano State Government, and law-abiding people of Kaduna State, which has been instrumental in maintaining peace and order. We commend various community leaders and stakeholders for their prompt action in debunking the fake news reports.

The Kaduna State Police Command has distanced itself from a man named Hadaina Hussaini, also known as Dan-taki, who was caught on social media wearing a police uniform and making provocative statements. This impostor allegedly threatened to carry out revenge attacks against southerners living in northern Nigeria.

His comments came in the wake of the tragic killing of 16 northerners in Uromi, located in the Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Dan-Taki invoked the name of Almighty God, declaring that northerners would take strong action against southerners.
He ominously stated, “I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys. Have you forgotten all your brothers who are living here in the North? Mark my words, after one week you shall see the result.” In a press release on Friday night, the police’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, made it clear that Hussaini is not affiliated with the Nigeria Police Force or the Kaduna State Police Command.
According to the police, Hussaini used to be part of the Police Special Constabulary linked to the Kaduna State Constabulary Office, but he was let go two years ago because of concerns about his character. The police spokesman has urged the public to stay alert and check the identity cards of any police personnel they encounter.
Inappropriate representation
Hassan mentioned that the suspect has been taken into custody and will face charges in court following a preliminary investigation. The statement explained, “The Kaduna State Police Command has noticed a comment on a Facebook post attributed to one Hadaina Hussaini (Dan-taki), which has been circulating on various social media platforms with the headline ‘Kaduna Police Officer Threatens Retaliation Against Southerners in Uromi Killings.’” “To clarify, Hadaina Hussaini is not a member of the Nigeria Police Force nor affiliated with the Kaduna State Police Command.
It’s important to highlight that the photo of him in police uniform circulating on social media, which is an inappropriate representation, is from his time as a member of the Police Special Constabulary at the Kaduna State Constabulary Office, from which he was dismissed two years ago due to his questionable character.
Members of the public are encouraged to take a close look at the identity card attached to the uniform, which clearly states ‘PSC/KD’—that’s short for Police Special Constabulary. Additionally, photos of him in uniform were shared on Facebook two years ago, before he was let go. The statement continued, saying, “The suspect has been apprehended and will face charges in court once the preliminary investigations are wrapped up, in line with existing laws.” The state command also emphasized that the Nigeria Police Force is a disciplined and structured organization dedicated to maintaining law and order, and it will not tolerate any form of incitement, hate speech, or threats to the peace and unity of our beloved country. Commissioner of Police, CP Rabi’u Muhammad, once again urges the public to stay calm and to report any suspicious activities of this kind to the police.
